“The line of demarcation between prehistoric and historical times is crossed when people cease to live only in the present, and become consciously interested both in their past and in their future. History begins with the handing down of tradition; and tradition means the carrying of the habits and lessons of the past into the future. Records of the past begin to be kept for the benefit of future generations.”—A great definition from historian E.H.Carr in What is History?

Hello from delve!
delve is a new web video channel, launching January 2014. At least once a month we’ll publish an original and thought-provoking video essay with one aim: to inspire your curiosity.
There’s a world worth of knowledge out there but it’s trapped away in old books and academic journals. We’re going to find it and unlock it by making it unashamedly fascinating.
If you like the idea of learning something new and unexpected and want to feed your mind with new knowledge then you can follow delve all over the web:
- on our Vimeo channel
- on our YouTube channel
- on Medium
- and right here on Tumblr
And why does delve exist? Read our founding statement here.
